What to check

Usually the door release is 12v AC 'fail locked'.

Measure AC voltage at the release when a phone button is being pressed.

Electric releases typically have a resistance of between 10 and 30 Ohms.

If there is a door loop or hinge contacts, inspect for continuity.

Replace Release with same type.

There are a large variety of releases, most are fixing plate or box variations.

Some can be 'fail open' and so 12v DC (also known as fail secure).
